Microsoft gives Windows 10 Hints

(NBC News) Microsoft is giving a sneak peek at its upcoming Windows 10 operating system.

The company announced Thursday its new operating system will be free for one year as an upgrade to users of Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1.

The move is seen by some as an olive branch after the company’s problematic transition to Windows 8 in the fall of 2013.

The company says the new Windows 10 will work seamlessly between devices.

A new browser, called “Spartan”, will also be part of the Windows 10 operating system, and, in case you’re wondering, there’s been no official explanation for why the company
skipped a Windows 9.
