SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Bishop Mitchell T. Rozanski is traveling overnight to march in the annual “March for Life” in Washington D.C. on Thursday.
According to Mark Dupont of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield, Bishop Rozanski, and several hundred participants, gathered at St. Stanislaus School in Chicopee to get organized and wait for the buses that will bring them to Washington D.C. At the march, they will join hundreds of thousands of supporters who will march through the streets of D.C.
Krystian Jurkowski, a senior at Chicopee High School, told 22News, “It’s basically standing up for the unborn. There are plenty of people who have the choice to be pro-life or pro-choice and in my opinion, pro-life is the better option.” Jurkowski added that he considers this a “spiritual journey.”
Every year hundreds of local Catholics, young and old, make the long overnight trip to join thousands from across the country in the march. There will also be Catholic youth rallies to accommodate some 28,000 people who are scheduled to attend, Dupont said.
