ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (WBAL) Six people are still unaccounted for after a four-alarm fire gutted an Annapolis, Maryland mansion early Monday morning.
Arriving crews found the $6 million home fully involved.
“They had heavy fire from the structure. They attempted to make entry into some unburned areas to try to perform a rescue. As soon as they made entry, they had a floor collapse. They had structural failure of the roof coming down on them so they were pushed back out of the house,” Anne Arundel County Fire Capt. Russ Davies said.
The home is very secluded and at the end of a rural road, which made the firefighters’ job more difficult running hundreds, if not thousands, of feet of hose.
Officials with Reston, Virginia-based ScienceLogic said chief operating officer Don Pyle owns the house.
