WASHINGTON, D.C. (NBC News) President Obama delivers his State of The Union address this week and it’s already drawing criticism from Republicans on Capitol Hill.
The GOP is now in control of both chambers of Congress, but that isn’t stopping President Obama from offering a wish-list that includes more spending on the middle class and poor and a tax increase for the rich.
What the president says is certain to have a familiar ring because he’s already unveiled several major talking points in a series of campaign-style show-and-tell events.
In Detroit he discussed ways to build on the economic recovery, in Phoenix ideas to make home ownership more affordable and in Knoxville ways of cutting the price of a college education.
