WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The New England Patriots are heading to the Super Bowl to take on the Seattle Seahawks on February 1st, and many Pats fans are wearing their AFC Champion pride Monday.
22News went to Dicks sporting goods in West Springfield this Monday morning. There was a decent amount of AFC champion t-shirts in most sizes, but a lot of fans were looking for hats. Those flew off the shelves when the stores opened back up Sunday night after the game.
Store employees told customers they were expecting another shipment later Monday, but they weren’t sure when.
Eddie Valentine of West Springfield told 22News “get a coffee, come back, try again. If not, Monday night, tomorrow. It’s always been like that the first day. You want to wear that hat.”
Raymond Dagenais of Springfield told 22News I’ve gotten one every year since Belichick came. Every year they win AFC or the super bowl I have a hat. They’re all new and unused.
Some fans told 22News they weren’t looking to spend money on gear this week. They were confident the Pats will take home another Super Bowl win, and they plan to wait until the new Patriots Super Bowl Champion merchandise is available the night of February 1st.
