BOSTON (SHNS) – On the heels of Gov. Charlie Baker’s naming of Stephanie Pollack as state transportation secretary, Boston Mayor Martin Walsh on Sunday announced Gina Fiandaca will serve as the city’s transportation commissioner.
Fiandaca has worked in the Boston Transportation Department since 1990, including eight years as parking clerk, and the mayor’s office credits her with leading implementation of the city’s web-based parking ticket payment system and working on the recent effort to launch the ParkBoston mobile phone app. She is a member of the National Parking Association and president of the New England Parking Council.
Fiandaca has been interim commissioner since May 2014.
