Alabama outdoor advertising company says they've been overwhelmed with calls about message posted on Interstate 59 near Birmingham.

SPRINGVILLE, Alab. (WVTM) A controversial billboard off an Alabama interstate has a lot of people talking.

The billboard is located off I-59 in Springville, visible on the southbound lanes traveling towards Birmingham and reads “Diversity means chasing down the last white person #WhiteGenocide”

Dyar Outdoors, which handles leasing for the spot, says their phones have been ringing off the hook ever since, prompting them to unplug their telephones.

While they declined to release the identity of the person who purchased the billboard space, Dyar Outdoors representatives said they were somewhat surprised by the reaction.
