CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men from Holyoke were arrested by state troopers during a traffic stop in Chicopee, in which four different kinds of drugs were allegedly found.
According to a news release from State Police Media Relations, troopers arrested Branden Fournier, 20, and Steven Lovely, 40, during the stop on Interstate 391 northbound shortly after noontime Monday. State police went to pull over Fournier’s Ford Mustang for motor vehicle violations, when they allegedly found that Fourner was illegally keeping a loaded Raven Arms .25 caliber pistol.
Troopers say they then discovered Lovely, Fournier’s passenger, had “bundles of wax envelopes believed to he heroin, bags of white powder believed to be cocaine, two packets of Suboxone, and two bags of Oxycodone pills.”
Both men were arrested. Lovely is charged with possession with intent to distribute a class A drug (heroin,) possession of a class B drug (cocaine,) possession with intent to distribute a class B drug (Suboxone, subsequent offense,) possession with intent to distribute a class B drug (Oxycodone, subsequent offense). He was also cited for failure to wear a seat belt.
Fournier is charged with unlicensed, unlawful possession of a firearm, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, driving without having a license in possession, speeding, and a motor vehicle lights violation. Both men will be arraigned in Springfield District Court.
