BERLIN, Mass. (AP) — A central Massachusetts elementary school is closing for the day as a stomach bugs sweeps through the student body.
The Berlin Memorial School will be closed Tuesday because 25 percent of the students and a staff member were out of school Monday with a stomach bug.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that school staff and administrators were disinfecting the school Monday.
Karen Molnar, director of pupil personnel services for the Berlin-Boylston public schools, said in an email that more cleaning will take place Tuesday. She says parents have been asked to keep any student who has been sick home for at least 24 hours after symptoms have ended.
