Seniors: Coping With The Cold
Frigid temperatures can pose special challenges for senior citizens.

ERIE, Penn. (WICU) The bitter cold weather enveloping much of the nation can be especially tough on the elderly.

Darcy Rees is the Director of Client Care at Home Instead Senior Care in Erie, Pennsylvania.

She says seniors need to keep their thermostats set at, at least 65 degrees.

And seniors should rely on others to help when the temps get so dangerously low. Whether it’s a family member, neighbor, or agency, have somebody else get your mail, pick up groceries. In some cases,you can even get your prescriptions delivered from your pharmacy.
