LAWRENCE, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say two families have been displaced by a fire in a Lawrence home, but there were no reports of injuries.
The blaze in the Prospect Street two-family building was reported at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Deputy Fire Chief Daniel Kennedy tells The Eagle-Tribune that firefighters arrived to find heavy flames coming from the left side of second story building.
Crews initially tried to make an interior attack into the home, but were pushed back by heavy flames. He says the heaviest damage was limited to the left side of the second floor.
The cause remains under investigation.
The Red Cross is helping the affected families.
