Winter Weather Advisory Monday for all of WMass

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 4 p.m. Monday for all of western Massachusetts.

  • Hazard types: snow, sleet, and freezing rain.
  • Accumulations: More than 2″ outside of the lower Pioneer Valley
  • Up to a tenth of an inch of ice.
  • Lower Pioneer Valley: Afternoon rain showers
  • North and west: Rain, freezing rain and sleet continue this afternoon.
  • Northern Berkshire County, western Franklin and northern Berkshire County: Snow and sleet through the afternoon.

* Impacts any accumulation of snow, sleet and freezing rain will lead to slippery travel on untreated roads and sidewalks. Motorists need to be especially careful on bridges and overpasses where slippery spots can easily develop.

A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when snow and/or ice is forecast to develop in the affected areas but accumulations are expected to be light.
