FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WWLP) – It’s an exciting day at Gillette Stadium as fans get ready to cheer on the New England Patriots in their first playoff game of the season.
22News reporter Alessandra Martinez was in Foxborough Saturday morning, before fans started tailgating outside the stadium. We were even allowed on the field.
The National Weather Service forecast for Foxborough calls for clear skies and temperatures around 20 degrees. Crews have been setting up throughout the morning laying down salt on the sidelines and prepping the sidelines for each team. They also have crews salting down around the bleacher seats.
The Patriots face off against the Baltimore Ravens starting at 4:35 p.m. The Patriots finished the season 12 – 4, and if they win Saturday night’s game, they advance another step closer to being in the Superbowl.
Now, we’ve seen the Pats and the Ravens on the field during playoffs before; this is the 4th postseason meeting between the teams since the 2010 playoffs, and the Ravens beat the Pats 2 out of 3 times. In 2012, the Ravens won the Superbowl.
The average price for a ticket to this weekend’s showdown at Gillette Stadium is about $336 on the secondary market, according to TiqIQ, which is an online marketplace of tickets from major resellers.
The game will air on NBC and it will also be available on NBCSports.com.
