SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Light snow is making for slippery travel conditions on area roadways. State police were dealing with three crashes on the highways in Springfield late Tuesday morning.
Trooper Wood of the State Police barracks in Springfield told 22News that one of the accidents was on 91 northbound near Exit 9 (Route 20 West), while the others were on 291 eastbound near Exit 4 (St James Ave), and on I-291 westbound at the flyover ramp to I-91 north.
Those crashes have since cleared, but there have been slowdowns throughout the region on I-91, I-291, and Route 5.
Wood said that there were no serious injuries in any of the crashes, and that they are likely due to the weather conditions.
