Armed robbery at Springfield convenience store

Suspect fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash

Springfield police responded to the Quick Stop Food Mart for an armed robbery Thursday night.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) –  Springfield police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store Thursday night.

Springfield Police Capt.Trent Duda told 22News police were called to the Quick Stop Food Mart at 889 Carew Street around 11 o’clock Thursday night for an armed robbery.

A Springfield police officer on the scene told 22News a suspect wearing all-black entered the convenience store, assaulted an employee, and grabbed an unknown amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

A 22News camera crew saw that the employee suffered lacerations to the head and right hand but was conscious and able to walk.

He was later transported by ambulance to a hospital.

It’s unknown at this time what direction the suspect fled in, how much money was stolen, or the weapon used. The suspect has no description other than wearing all-black during the robbery with their face obscured.
