inFocus: What’s driving the high cost of energy

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Winter is officially here and there are families struggling to heat their homes as a result of the high cost of energy.

On 22News InFocus, we take a look at what’s driving the prices and how much we’ll have to pay in the New Year.

We’ll also talked about ways you can save on your heating bills this winter.

Marin Goldstein of the Center for Eco-Technology broke down which homes have the costliest bills. “Over 50% of their energy costs in their home go towards heating, cooling and hot water. So, if you deal with the structure of your home, deal with the airflow, the draftiness, death with insulation, those are the two most important things you can deal with in our home that will affect cost savings.”
