CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – Panettone is a type of sweet bread loaf usually enjoyed for Christmas. Cindy Barbieri from CindysTable.com showed us how to transform this bread into a delicious breakfast!
4 cups chocolate pudding
2 teaspoons espresso powder
2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
2 cups panettone, cubed
Fresh whipped cream for topping
Make your own chocolate pudding or from a package and follow the directions. In the bowl add in espresso powder and coffee liqueur. Combine well.
Take have of the panettone cubes and create a layer in a trifle bowl. Top with 1/2 of the chocolate pudding mix. Add another layer to use the remaining panettone then top with the pudding.
Top with whipped cream cover and refrigerate. Remove from refrigerator when ready to enjoy!
Panettone French Toast
4 large eggs, room temperature
1 cup cream or milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
In a large bowl or baking dish whisk eggs and add in cream then cinnamon. Combine well together.
Take slices of panettone and place in the egg batter and flip over. Let sit while you heat the grill pan over medium-high heat. Add about 1 tablespoon of butter and let melt.
Add each slice of dipped panettone on the grill pan. Sprinkle the bread with a little extra cinnamon. cook each side until brown; about 3 minutes. Flip and cook the other side until brown.
Remove from pan and put on your plate or serving platter. Add a little extra butter and drizzle with warm maple syrup and enjoy!
