Springfield overnight car fires

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) — There were two car fires in Springfield overnight.

Springfield Fire Spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News just after 1 o’cock this morning, firefighters were called to 9 Brookline Avenue for a car fire.

The Springfield Arson and Bomb Squad determined a brick was thrown through the rear window and the car was intentionally set on fire.

According to Leger, there was a second car fire just before 3 o’clock this morning as well. That fire was at 760 alden street.

The Arson and Bomb Squad is trying to determine if that fire was also intentionally set.
