Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo, Vanessa Redgrave

You’d better prepare yourself for Steve Carell as you’ve never seen him before.

On the surface “Foxcatcher” is just an Intriguing story of an eccentric billionaire with a passion for Olympic wrestling.

It’s what simmers beneath the surface that makes “Foxcatcher” such a psychological spellbinder.

I take back everything that I’ve ever said about Channing Tatum not having the acting chops of a fledgling superstar.

But just being surprisingly good in the role of the slow-witted Olympic hopeful is no match for Carell’s amazing transformation into the strange, dangerous character who’ll give you the creeps.

Since “Foxcatcher” is filled with fascinating characters, Vanessa Redgrave fits right in there as Carell’s domineering and disapproving Mother. She’s the person most responsible for her son’s twisted perspective on life.

“Foxcatcher” is bound to be one of the highlights of your holiday season movie going.

I can’t imagine Steve Carell not getting an Oscar nomination. While “Foxcatcher” grabs the brass ring with 4 stars.

It’s a powerful movie that’s actually based on a true story. Yes, truth of often stranger than fiction.
