Man shot in the thigh; Chicopee police investigating

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Chicopee police are looking for the public’s help to figure out what caused a shooting in the early morning hours Friday.

Officer Mike Wilk told 22News that police were called to 40 Alvord Avenue in Chicopee Falls just after 2:30, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the thigh. The man was taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center, and is expected to survive.

Police are not releasing further details about the shooting, but they are asking if anyone had seen or heard anything about it to call the Chicopee Police Detective Bureau at (413) 594-1730, or you can anonymously text-a-tip.
