Firefighters rescue man from Connecticut River

South Hadley Firefighters were called to Brunelle's Marina

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) —  South Hadley firefighters were able to rescue a man who fell into the Connecticut River Thursday night.

Fire Capt. Thomas Stark told 22News the South Hadley Fire Department arrived at Brunelle’s Marina at around 10 o’clock Thursday. They had received a call saying someone on a boat at the marina had fallen into the water.

Capt. Stark said when they arrived, the boat was still tied to the dock but firefighters were able to find and rescue the person about half a mile from the dock.

The man was found conscious and then taken back to the marina. He was then transported to a hospital as a precautionary measure.
