Police warn of an electric company scheme

The suspect is going door-to-door

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are warning residents of a door-to-door scheme where a man pretends to be from your electric company.

According to the Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, a 62-year-old woman answered her Sanderson Street home door on Tuesday to find a man asking for her personal information, including her social security number.

If anyone witnesses this happen or is a victim of the same crime, please call the Springfield Police Department Detective Bureau at 413-787-6355.
