MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Milford police dog helped officers arrest a man with over $30,000 in marijuana on Wednesday.
The Milford police narcotics unit worked with the Bridgeport drug enforcement agency to initiate an investigation in November of suspected drug trafficking activity in the area. Detectives, with the help of Milford’s K9, Cedar, found the suspect 28-year-old Guiseppe Berardi, of Bronx, NY, in possession of five pounds of high grade marijuana.
At another location, police seized an additional six pounds of the same marijuana and a 9 MM firearm with ammunition. The estimated street value of the marijuana is of $33,000.
Berardi was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana within 1500 feet of a school, operating a drug factory and criminal possession of a firearm. He was held on $100,000 bond.
