WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Police investigated another pedestrian accident, this time in West Springfield where a woman was hit on Riverdale Street.
West Springfield Police reopened all the lanes on Riverdale Street around 7:00 p.m Thursday, after being closed from the Rave movie theaters to past the McDonald’s for an hour while police investigated.
Police Capt. Thomas Wilkinson told 22News that a woman was hit near the McDonald’s on Riverdale Street and was taken away in an ambulance to Baystate Medical Center. She is expected to survive from her injuries.
A 22News crew member at the accident saw a pickup truck on the side of the road. No word yet if this was the vehicle involved in the accident or if charges will be filed against the driver.
Also, this was the first pedestrian in one night. Two other people were hit by vehicles Thursday night, one on Broadway Street in Chicopee, where two people went to the hospital, and another in Great Barrington, where the person was taken to Hartford Hospital.
