SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Western Massachusetts’ newest medical office building formally opened Thursday.
The three-story building at Chestnut and Carew Streets on the campus of Mercy Medical Center is home to doctor’s offices, as well as Mercy’s Weldon Rehabilitation Center and the Mercy Hearing Center. Dan Moen, President and CEO of the Sisters of Providence Health System, told 22News that staff and patients have been thrilled with the new facility.
“The response from patients has been amazing as well as the response from from, especially the staff working in other facilities. It’ like we brought them out of the dark into the light,” Moen said.
“This is a beautiful facility,” physical therapist Ewa Wrona said. “We waited for such a long time, we’re blessed and we are so happy to be here.”
The recently-completed medical facility was built at a cost of $20 million.
