Holiday rush continues to find the perfect gifts

It's advisable to set a budget or have a list if you shop last minute

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Just a week away from Christmas and the holiday shopping rush is growing more intense.

Traditionally, the week leading up to Christmas is the best time to save money on the holidays, next to Black Friday. However, shoppers who wait until the last minute are more likely to make poor shopping choices.

That’s why it’s advisable to set a budget, have a list or, like one shopper, call ahead and have them set aside the items you need.

Sylvia Horton of Springfield told 22News, “I already have something they are holding for me, I’m just going to run in, go get it and get out. Some of us are just procrastinators by nature.”

If you’re shopping online, Thursday night is the night to buy. According to the free shipping day website, more than 1,100 retailers are offering free shipping for delivery by Christmas if you make your online purchase by midnight on Thursday.
