Stavros opens its newly renovated center

They assist about 6,000 people every year

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There is a brand new facility in Springfield to help people with disabilities achieve their potential.

The Stavros Center for Independent Living has begun operations at its new and newly renovated location on Berkshire Avenue. Stavros helps people with disabilities live independently in the community, and to facilitate their employment.

Angelina Ramirez of the Stavros Center told 22News, “Try to make life whatever people want to make it. If they want a job, if they want to go back to school, if they want to go outdoors and enjoy it, that’s what we’re here to help them have what they want.”

Stavros has been helping people with disabilities in Hampden County for 40 years. They assist about 6,000 people every year. To contact them, call 1-800-804-1899.
