GREENFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men were arrested after state police say they found 80 bags of  what’s believed to be heroin during a traffic stop in Greenfield Tuesday morning.

According to State Police Media Relations, Frankie Carrion, 39, of New Bedford, and Jesse M. Odle, 18, of Deerfield were arrested at around 1:40 during the stop on Federal Street. State police say that they pulled over the Dodge Intrepid Carrion was driving for an equipment violation. Carrion allegedly began to drive off after the trooper got out of his cruiser, but he then stopped a short distance away.

State police investigated, and allegedly found Carrion had about 80 bags of suspected heroin. They also discovered that he did not have permission to be driving the Dodge. He is charged with possession of a Class A substance, use of a motor vehicle without authority, and motor vehicle equipment violation.

Odle is charged with being present where heroin is kept, and was also arrested on an active warrant from Franklin/Hampshire Juvenile Court.
