SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 43-year-old man faces multiple charges after being arrested early Tuesday morning for firing a single shot in the air on Dickinson Street.

According to Springfield Sgt. John Delaney, around 2:30 a.m., officers went to Dickinson Street and Sumner Avenue for a “Shot Spotter” activation indicating a single gunshot. When police arrived at the parking lot of the “X Pub” on Sumner Ave., witnesses told them that an argument had taken place between two men and a woman.

Sgt. Delaney said the argument escalated, the woman got in an SUV and drove away, while the two men stayed and continued to argue. Then one of the men, later identified as 43-year-old Angel Berrios, took a 9MM Beretta from a backpack and fired a shot in the air yelling, “Yo, I’m done with this.”
