(NBC News) The massive storm the pummeled the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco Bay area Thursday is now taking aim at Southern California, where heavy rain is causing flash flooding and mudslides.
The storm moved in overnight, dropping too much rain too fast.
In some areas ten inches or more fell, soaking hillsides already stripped by recent wildfires. The charred ground giving way to a river of mud and rock.
As the thick mess moved downhill it ripped apart and swallowed homes.
