Alert Ambulance drops off truckloads of toys

The Alert Ambulance creww donated $1300 for toys

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News had two ambulances pull up to the building Friday night, but it wasn’t a medical emergency. It was a mission of love, demonstrating the spirit of the season of giving.

Instead of picking up victims, “Alert Ambulance” of Chicopee was dropping off truckloads of toys for “Toys for Tots.”

This is the fifth year that the EMT’s and other Alert Ambulance workers have raised money and bought toys for our campaign to make sure every western Massachusetts child gets a gift this holiday season.

Holly Baird of Alert Ambulance told 22News, “And we really lucked out because the owner of the company’s very supportive of us. So whatever the employees raised, the company matched, which is even better.”

Baird said the crew donated 1300 dollars for toys, which took several trips to empty the ambulances.

We’re accepting new unwrapped toys this weekend and Monday. Please help us fill our lobby, and distribute toys to thousands of deserving children in western Massachusetts.
