Friends of the Homeless hosts Soup Supper

Nearly 140 people made donations to the organization

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Valley Gives Day continued throughout Wednesday night. In Springfield, Friends of the Homeless hosted a Soup Supper to help keep its services alive.

The organization offers shelter and services to those struggling in the Springfield area. Nearly 140 people made donations to the organization, all while enjoying some great soup.

“Beyond that what we got was a lot of new donors, and young people that are donating. You know that’s really a nice thing,” said Bill Miller, Friends of the Homeless director.

Since 2012, the Valley Gives Day has raised over $3 million for the community. On December 10th, the Valley Gives organization raised over $ 2.6 million.
