Snow, wintry mix expected overnight in WMass

Winter Weather Advisory issued for much of western Mass.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The warm temperatures we had seen in the last couple of days will not last, and in fact, some snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected for western Massachusetts during the night on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning..

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Franklin County, Berkshire County, and western portions of Hampden and Hampshire Counties until 6:00 Wednesday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory is issued when snow or ice accumulations are expected, though the amounts are expected to be light.

22News Storm Team Meteorologist Brian Lapis reports that the light sleet and freezing rain will turn into plain rain early Wednesday morning. Around 7:00 a.m., temperatures will be in the 30s, so give yourself some extra time in morning. Be ready for some ice on your car, and on surfaces, meaning the roadways cold be slippery.
