Potentially dangerous toys revealed in “Trouble in Toyland” report

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Some toys that your children play with could be dangerous, one advocacy group says.

MASSPIRG released their 29th annual Trouble in Toyland report Tuesday at the Downtown Springfield YMCA.

The report reveals that there are still toxic chemicals in some children’s toys, which can have serious impacts on a child’s development.

An advocate for MASSPIRG told 22News what else you should look out for while doing your holiday shopping. Beth Ramey said “the number one cause for toy recalls is actually a choking hazard, and between 2005 and 2012 over 60 children choked to death on toys, parts of toys, or balloons.”
