ORTING, Wash. (KING) Heavy rainfall led to a number of flood warnings on western Washington rivers and the evacuation of Mount Rainier National Park on Tuesday.
As of 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Tacoma and Olympia were among the cities reporting more than an inch of 24-hour rainfall. Seattle had about two-thirds of an inch.
Officials at Mount Rainier National Park have temporarily closed park access at the Nisqually entrance in the southwest corner of the park because of flooding.
