AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – By late Wednesday morning, what was just plain rain had quickly turned into snow, which began to stick on grassy surfaces across western Massachusetts, with roads getting a coating of snow just a short time later.
22News Storm Team Meteorologist Adam Strzempko was in Agawam, where he said conditions had started to become slippery at around 11:00 A.M. In towns to the west of the valley, such as Granville, snow was sticking to the roads much earlier.
The speed limit on the Massachusetts Turnpike has been reduced to 40 miles per hour from West Stockbridge to Ludlow, due to the snowy conditions.
