SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Southington police have made six arrests in their latest effort to combat prostitution in town.
On Friday, Southington police conducted an undercover prostitution operation that resulted in six criminal arrests. This sting was planned in response to reports and complaints that prostitutes were active at several Southington motels.
An undercover officer, posing as a prostitute, responded to numerous inquiries and requests for sexual activity from suspects (also known as “johns”) in exchange for money. Arrangements were made to meet at a local motel room.
Police arrested 54-year-old Paul Tommasino of Meriden, 56-year-old Ronald Murphy of Farmington, 40-year-old Paolo Mazzicato of Avon, 31-year-old Lukasz Kaziul of Southington, 59-year-old Dana Layton of Union City California, and 58-year-old David Tonseth of Marlborough New Hampshire.
All six men were charged with Patronizing a Prostitute. Murphy was also charged with interfering with an officer.
