HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A dozen restaurants from all over western Massachusetts competed in the first ever Food Fest Challenge at the Log Cabin Monday night.
The Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau challenged chefs to serve regional dishes that demonstrate what the Pioneer Valley means to them. Some chefs cooked up regional favorites while others used local ingredients to spice up familiar dishes.
The Visitors Bureau created the event to boost tourism in western Massachusetts.
Carolyn Edwards told 22News, “We have a lot to offer; many attractions, great restaurants like you can see tonight, museums, so it’s a really a place we’re trying to attract for people to come with their families and come over and over again.”
Guests were charged $45 per person. The proceeds will go toward boosting tourism in western Massachusetts.
