(WHDH) Massachusetts’ Westminster Board of Health held a public meeting Wednesday night to determine if they will ban the sale of tobacco within town limits.
The meeting was scheduled to last several hours, but due to a vocal crowd the board was forced to cancel the hearing after just four speakers in 25 minutes.
“It’s just gotten too unruly, no one is respecting the ground rules, we have to close it,” Board of Health Chairman Andrea Crete said. “The clapping everybody talking, nobody was showing any respect to the board.”
The town’s Board of Selectmen did have time to announce their unanimous opinion against the ban before everyone was sent home and Crete was escorted out by police.
