BOSTON (WWLP) – Governor-elect Charlie Baker has chosen the CEO of Springfield-based MassMutual to be a part of his transition team as he prepares to take over as governor in January. Company President and Chief Executive Officer Roger Crandall was one of three people named as co-chairs of Baker’s advisory commission on jobs and the economy. On Thursday, the incoming governor also announced the formation of advisory commissions on the state of the state, human resources, better government, community, schools, and healthcare.

Some the others appointed to his transition team include former Democratic Congressman Marty Meehan, who is currently chancellor of UMass Lowell, Chelsea City Manager Jay Ash, whom Baker recently named as a member of his cabinet, former Department of Social Services Commissioner Linda Carlisle, and Southcoast Health System President and CEO Keith Hovan.

The transition team will be led by Lieutenant Governor-elect Karyn Polito, and she will announce additional transition team members in the coming weeks.
