BOSTON (WWLP) – If you need health insurance, you will be able to enroll in a plan this weekend. The state is launching a new and improved website to help you look for affordable health plans.
Beginning on Saturday, November 15 at 8 a.m., people can visit the state’s Health Connector website to shop for insurance plans within their budget. After last year’s rough roll out, the state spent a total of $254 million to get a functioning website up and running. The Health Connector Board says the website is ready to go live on Saturday and will have the ability to notify people who qualify for Medicaid and enroll them. Filling out the application can be lengthy and complicated, but places like Caring Health Center in Springfield can help walk you through the process.
“I’m excited. We’re confident. We’ve had training with the system which has been great so we’re ready. We’re ready,” said Heather Goodhind.
The open enrollment period will last until February 15, 2015.
