Security is being tightened ahead of grand jury decision in the Michael Brown case.

(NBC News) The city of Ferguson, Missouri is bracing for yet another burst of potential violence as a grand jury deliberates on whether to indict a white police officer who shot and killed an unarmed African American teen.

On Thursday Anthony D. Gray, the attorney for the family of Michael Brown, held a news conference outside of the Saint Louis County Justice Center.

The overall theme of the news conference was non-violence, including a plea for calm and restraint as protesters and police await the grand jury’s decision.

“On behalf of the Brown family, we do not condone any acts of rioting, looting, or violence,” said Gray.

Earlier this week state and city leaders worked to reassure an increasingly anxious public, reporting that they have taken every precaution to ensure demonstrations are peaceful following the ruling.
