DA releases name of Lowell stabbing victim

Police said they were called to Hadley Park Apartment Homes and found the victim dead

LOWELL, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a Lowell man found dead of stab wounds in his own apartment last week.

A spokesman for the Middlesex district attorney’s office says the victim of the Thursday morning stabbing was 43-year-old Robert Sienkiewicz.

The victim’s roommate, 36-year-old Luis Rodriguez, is being held without bail after pleading not guilty to murder.

Police said they were called to Hadley Park Apartment Homes and found the victim dead. Police said they found Rodriguez at another address with minor injuries.

A neighbor tells The Sun the men are mentally challenged and were placed in the apartment through a housing-assistance program. Neighbors said they were friendly and quiet.

Rodriguez’s lawyer asked that jail officials be informed about his client’s special condition and his medications.
