BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) – A disabled child was on a playground swing for the first time in her life Sunday at a new park in Belchertown.
Dawn Callahan helped her daughter Clair enjoy her long awaited experience at Jessica’s boundless playground opened after five years of fundraising and construction. It’s a park that disabled as well as able bodied children can share.
For Clair’s mom it’s a dream come true. “It’s great I mean for something like this to come together as they did as a community that clearly cares about people with disabilities and organize this with the amount of effort they put into it , it’s priceless,” said Callahan.
The boundless playground is dedicated to a child from Belchertown who died five years ago. The cost of the project was three quarters of a million dollars.
