Two veterans selected to lead parade in Springfield

The Veterans Day Parade in Springfield will be held on Nov. 11th

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A Vietnam Veteran and a retired member of the Marine Corps will lead Tuesday’s Veterans Day Parade in Springfield.

Parade Marshal Rocky Snow and 2014 Veteran of the Year Ronald Krupke will occupy places of honor during the Veterans Day Parade on November 11th.

During Thursday afternoon’s veteran of the year ceremony, Vietnam Veteran Krupke told 22News why he and his comrades now receive the respect they deserved then. “The kids do understand a lot more now, because of the future wars, Iraq and Afghanistan, and they see the people coming back.”

“I was moved; so honored when I received the phone call. I couldn’t believe it, it means a lot to me,” said Snow.

Tuesday’s parade will follow a familiar route from Springfield Technical Community College to the Veterans Monuments at Court Square.
