Heroin, cocaine, pot, and guns seized in Holyoke arrest

The two men arrested are potential drug dealers

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Two men from Holyoke have been arraigned on multiple drug and gun charges after being arrested Wednesday by the Holyoke Police Narcotics Unit.

According to Holyoke Police Lt. Jim Albert, police executed a search warrant at 79 Mosher Street around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday and arrested 21-year-old Christopher Bermudez and 29-year-old Robert Cunningham.

Lt. Albert said officers seized a “Browning” 12 gage shot-gun and a loaded “Kel-Tec” .380 semi-automatic handgun, rounds of .380 ammunition and a 9mm round from the house.

Also sieved from the house were about 21.5 grams of heroin, 100 grams of crack cocaine/cocaine, and several grams of marijuana. Lt. Albert added that packaging materials and scales were found, which means the two men where potentially planning to distribute the drugs for sale.

Christopher Bermudez and Robert Cunningham were charged with the following:

  • Trafficking Class A (Heroin) 18-36 grams
  • Possession to Distribute Class D (Marijuana)
  • Possession of Firearms Ammo w/out FID Card
  • Possession of a Firearm w/out a License
  • Possession of a Firearm w/out a License
  • Weapons Stored / Kept w/out Securing
  • Weapons Stored / Kept w/out Securing
  • Use of a Firearm During a Felony
  • Trafficking Cocaine – 36-100 grams

Both Bermudez and Cunningham were arraigned in Holyoke District Court earlier Thursday.

The Holyoke Police Narcotics Unit was assisted by members of The DEA Task Force, The FBI’s Western Mass Gang Task Force and The ATF Task Force.
