CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal)  Buy local holiday gifts all while eating great local food in Springfield!  Marie-Reine Raheb and Kathy Alevras from St. Anthony’s Church in Springfield told us about the Harvest Bazaar and how to make hummus.

The Harvest Bazaar

Saturday, Nov. 8th – 9:00am – 6pm
Sunday, Nov. 9th – 9:00-2PM

Hummus

  • 2 cans chickpeas rinsed and drained
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • cold water as needed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Cooking directions:

  • Mix tahini well before measuring. Place all ingredients in food processor, and pulse the processor to blend ingredients. If too thick, gradually add water and continue processing until you have a creamy thick consistency.
  • Place hummus in a serving bowl and sprinkle some chopped parsley on top for garnish.
