CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – Candy may be delicious, but it’s terrible for kids’ teeth, so Children’s Dentistry of Chicopee is buying back your unwanted candy.
This whole week, anyone can go into their business on Bay State Road in Chicopee and drop off any wrapped candy. They weigh it, and will pay you a dollar for every pound, up to five pounds.
However, the dentists won’t be handing that candy out to their patients; they’ll be sending it to troops overseas.
Leah Fay of the Children’s Dentistry of Chicopee told 22News, “Too much candy is a bad thing for their teeth, so we thought that this was a good idea to give some candy back to us and it’s going to go to the military troops, so it kind of brings a little bit of home to them overseas.”
It’s all through a program called Operation Gratitude, and in addition to the candy, the dentists said they’ll be sending our troops toothbrushes and toothpaste.
You don’t need to be a patient to sell your candy, and you can drop it off this Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
