NEWRY, Maine (WWLP) – It’s only the beginning of November, but a weekend storm has meant that ski season is getting underway early in parts of Maine.
Sunday River Resort announced they are opening up a single trail on Monday morning. Parts of Maine received several inches of snow as part of a coastal storm that affected New England over the weekend, and Sunday River turned on their snowmaking guns on Saturday to augment any natural snowfall.
The open trail is T2- an expert-level trail.
The resort, located in the Mahoosuc mountains in Newry, Maine, will be open from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Monday. They then expect to close through Friday and re-open over the weekend.
