SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Pioneer Valley Christian Academy in Springfield had much to celebrate on Thursday.
Hundreds of students and their parents attended the start of a $6 million construction project that will nearly double the size of the 42 year old school in the city’s East Forest Park neighborhood.
Parents told 22News that they’re not surprised that PVCA continues to grow.
“These children are different. They are respectful, they come to school and you really just see love among their peers,” Caroline Funcheon of Springfield said.
“Pioneer Valley Christian School has always given my children an opportunity to shine, to feel loved and secure and safe,” Karen Sprague of Springfield said.
When construction is finished by next fall, Pioneer Valley Christian Academy’s enrollment will increase from 267 to more than 500 students.
